What are the drug possession laws in Pennsylvania?

I had been recently pulled over for speeding while visiting a friend in another Pennsylvania. I was not under any sort of influence. I had speed because I was running late and the road was relatively quiet. I gave the officer consent to search my vehicle because I was overwhelmed and intimidated, and I’ve never been in trouble with the law before. He found the small amount of weed I had bought quite some time ago that and forgotten I had. He let me off with a citation for speeding and possession of marijuana. He also said that I could show up on my court date and ask for a deferment. This whole situation is making me worried for my future. What is the likelihood of the judge granting deferment? And if he doesn’t, is my criminal record going to show a misdemeanor for possession, or just a citation for possession? What are the drug possession laws in Pennsylvania?
