Can I sue a store owner if I shoplifted?
Can I take legal action against a store owner who used excessive force resulting in injury for shoplifting? I will spare you the details as it may incriminate me, but the gist is that I was excessively assaulted after allegedly being caught with less than $20 of merchandise. Is it even legal for a store owner and any employees to physically detain someone?
